The third national park in Lika-Senj County is Paklenica National Park, which is distinguished by its underground formations, caves, and Karst relief. The most attractive parts of the park are the canyons of Velika and Mala Paklenica, where the highest peak of Velebit is located, Vaganski at an altitude of 1,757 meters above sea level. The park also has 90 speleological sites, including 53 caverns and 37 caves.
There are about 150 kilometers of marked hiking and mountaineering paths and trails in the park. Hiking and mountaineering are the best ways to get to know “Paklenica”. The best known routes are:

The planinarski dom “Paklenica” and several shelters are part of the park, as are many mills that are open for visits from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Paklenica also has cliffs for free climbing, which always attracts a large number of adventurers.
